Aston Martin Classic Car Legend - ULSTER
1934 was a glorious year for Aston Martin, with the introduction of an improved "Mark II" model, which maintained stable production and produced a total of 104 vehicles. Two special racing drivers won a team award at the Ulster Tours Trophy in Northern Ireland, and a new "Ulster" two-seater road car was launched to celebrate the victory. Ulster is a replica of the car that won third, sixth, and seventh places in the 1934 Ulster Tourism Trophy. Its horsepower is 80 horsepower, and Aston Martin guarantees that the car can reach 100 miles per hour. In 1935, a more powerful 85 horsepower version, the LM20 (all of our Le Mans racers were awarded the LM title), ranked third in the 24 hour race at Le Mans. Another milestone of the year was the founding of the Aston Martin Club by the enthusiastic Mortimer Morris Goodall for "everyone who is fortunate or conscious to own the Aston Martin Owner's Club.".
The year 1934 was a glorious year for Aston Martin - the company introduced an improved Mark II model, with a stable output of 104 vehicles produced before and after. Two specially designed racing cars won the team championship at the Ulster Tournament Trophy in Northern Ireland. To celebrate this victory, Aston Martin subsequently launched this famous two-seater road sports car named Ulster, which perfectly replicates the racing car that won the 3rd, 6th, and 7th positions at the 1934 Ulster Tourism Trophy. It has 80 British horsepower, making it possible to reach speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. In 1935, the enhanced version of the 85 horsepower LM20 of this model achieved the third place overall performance in the Le Mans 24-hour endurance race. In the same year, the passionate Mortimer Morris Goodall founded the Aston Martin Owner's Club, providing a platform for owners with rich taste and wealth.
Ulster's engine power is adjusted to 80 horsepower, with a maximum speed guaranteed to exceed 100 miles per hour, and the price is 750 to 140 pounds higher than the regular Mk II. Only 21 Ulster cars were built, of which 17 were equipped with a two-seater racing body and a spare wheel mounted horizontally at the rear. Today, Ulster is considered the best of all pre war Aston Martin.
The Ulster model's engine power can be adjusted to 80 horsepower with a top speed of over 100 miles per hour, and the price is 140-750 pounds higher than that of the regular Mk II model. The production of Ulster models is only 21, of which 17 are two-seater sports cars with spare tires fixed horizontally at the rear. Today, the Ulster model is still regarded as the most exquisite and charming of all the models of Aston Martin before World War II.
Of the 21 total outputs, only 4 instances are 4-diners. Therefore, the license for the shooting of four Ulster buildings is "BLB684", which is rare even in Ulster. In 1936, BLB684 participated in the RSAC Scottish Rally and the R.A.C. Rally, driven by N.G. Watson, and won the second prize in the RSAC race. The following year, Watson drove it on JCC Membership Day in Brooklyn. In the hands of its next owner (Doyle), it won a lap steeplechase in the JCC Brooklands Rally; Mr. Doyle also won the 1950 Surrey Rally championship with this car, which was bequeathed to the Aston Martin Owners Club by Lewis Tree in 1974 and transferred to the Aston Martin Heritage Trust in 1988.
Of all the 21 Ulster models produced, only 4 are four seat models. The Ulster four-seater model with the license plate number "BLB684" in the photo is a very rare four-seater model in the Ulster series. In 1936, under the control of N.G. Watson, this Ulster four-seater completed the radio communication system Scottish Rally and AC power. Rally, and won the second place in the same level in the radio communication system rally. The following year, Watson drove it through the United Control Center Member Day event in Brooklyn. Until its next car owner, Doyle, owned it, it won the single lap steeplechase championship in the United Control Center Brooklyn Rally; Doyle also drove this car to win the championship in the 1950 four wheel two seat rally. Later, this Alster 2/4 seat with a glorious history was bequeathed by Lewis Torres to the Aston Martin Owners Club in 1974 and transferred to the Aston Martin Heritage Fund for safekeeping in 1988.
